If you’re looking for a fun singalong family program, I recommend Grandfather Joe. Grandfather Joe got the audience laughing and acting out the songs and really put on a comical performance. Be sure to ask for the “Baby Shark Song”. “Leslie Clarke, who is Ocean City’s Library’s children’s librarian, welcomed Grandfather Joe McGonigle on April 15, 2008. He entertained the kids and their parents royally with stories and music. He started by playing “Little Grass Shack” in Kalukahua, Hawaii on his ukulele and had his audience singing the complicated lyric along with him. He switched to guitar and played and sang The Beatles “I Get By with a Little Help from my Friends.” Children’s songs about animals, fruit and unicorns followed and delighted all. He is a truly charismatic performer who made the occasion into a real party. He made use of several stuffed animals and glove puppets operated by the kids, particularly while teaching them “Abba Dabba Honeymoon” with help from Ms. Leslie Clarke.”
