If you’re looking for a fun singalong family program, I recommend Grandfather Joe. Grandfather Joe got the audience laughing and acting out the songs and really put on a comical performance. Be sure to ask for the “Baby Shark Song”.

Dear Mr. McGonigle,
Thank you so much for your wonderful musical presentation for our young library patrons and their families last evening, as part of our Summer Reading Program. I was very impressed with the interaction you were able to achieve with the children. They really enjoyed the evening! I received many favorable comments as the families were leaving. We are grateful to you for helping us to provide quality entertainment for our youngsters.
Sincerely,

We loved your program at the Conshohocken Library last night. My daughter can’t stop singing the songs…she keeps asking me the words for the boa constrictor song. Unfortunately, my memory is not that good. We would love to use you for our birthday party next February. Thanks for your entertainment.

Grandfather Joe has played guitar for our entire 2nd grade over the past 7 years. He comes to St. Timothy School every January and June. Believe it or not, the kids really look forward to his return each year, and sometimes they seem to remember his songs better than my lessons (just kidding, I hope).

Joe -
I apologize for not being here for your program last week. It sounds like I really missed out; I have gotten all positive feedback. Everyone enjoyed themselves and said you were great. I will put your website up on our system message board so hopefully some of the other branches will have you come to their libraries.
Thank you so much and I look forward to working with you again!

Hello. I just wanted to tell you how much my son (Brayden) and I enjoyed your show. We saw you perform at the Vineland Public Library last Tuesday. The show was fabulous. Your rapport with the children was fantastic. Thank you!

Dear Joe,
Thank you so much for the program you did for us during National Library Week. All the audience, adult and child, truly had a good time! We had a super time and are very glad you were able to come. We hope to see you soon. (Enclosed is a newspaper article that Ed Wismer wrote in the Ocean City Sentinel)

“Leslie Clarke, who is Ocean City’s Library’s children’s librarian, welcomed Grandfather Joe McGonigle on April 15, 2008. He entertained the kids and their parents royally with stories and music. He started by playing “Little Grass Shack” in Kalukahua, Hawaii on his ukulele and had his audience singing the complicated lyric along with him. He switched to guitar and played and sang The Beatles “I Get By with a Little Help from my Friends.” Children’s songs about animals, fruit and unicorns followed and delighted all. He is a truly charismatic performer who made the occasion into a real party. He made use of several stuffed animals and glove puppets operated by the kids, particularly while teaching them “Abba Dabba Honeymoon” with help from Ms. Leslie Clarke.”
